Michigan health officials are urging residents to take precautions against mosquito bites after confirming the state's first human case of eastern equine encephalitis in five years.
EEE is rare but can cause severe neurological illness. Officials recommend EPA-registered repellent, long sleeves at dawn and dusk, repairing window screens and emptying standing water around the home.
