University of Michigan Picks Vanderbilt Provost as Its Next President

ANN ARBOR — The University of Michigan has selected C. Cybele Raver, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Vanderbilt University, as its next president, according to people with direct knowledge of the decision.
Former Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan was among the candidates considered during the search, those people said.
What's next
An official announcement was expected the same day. Raver would take over a university navigating federal research funding pressure and enrollment growth on its Ann Arbor campus.
